Suggested Use
Take one softgel capsule three times a day before meals, preferably with some water. ProLipid softgels should be consumed before the date printed on the bottom of the container.
What are possible side effects and when should ProLipid softgels not be used?
The safety profile of phytosterol esters, fish oil and vitamins is excellent, as long as the dosage is kept within the range recommended by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Side effects from the active ingredients listed above are very rare. Although the long chain omega-3 fatty acids used are highly concentrated and purified, mild gastrointestinal discomfort or "fish burps" have been reported occasionally. Patients who have bleeding problems, are taking blood-thinning medications or are undergoing surgery or any treatment that may affect the ability of their blood to clot should consult their doctor because of the blood thinning effects of long-chain omega-3 fatty acids.
The following individuals should not take ProLipid softgel capsules:
- Women who are pregnant or nursing
- Individuals younger than 18 years
- Individuals suffering from the rare genetic disease called sitosterolemia
- Individuals with a known sensitivity or allergy to any of the ingredients listed above, including soy and tuna
Generally, we want to emphasize that ProLipid softgel capsules are dietary supplements, not drugs. They are not intended to treat or prevent any disease, but rather to improve and preserve your health. Please make sure to consult your doctor any time you experience health problems.
Storage Recommendations
Please store ProLipid in a cool, dry place. Each container includes a small sachet with a food-compatible drying agent which should not be eaten. Please return the container if the freshness seal surrounding the container opening has been broken.
Recommendations For Maximizing Health Effects
Taking ProLipid softgels should always be combined with lifestyle changes to maximize the effect on your health and general wellbeing. Lifestyle changes can include increasing physical activity, reducing bodyweight and consuming a "heart-healthy" diet restricted in calories and saturated fat. Quitting smoking, following your doctor's strict recommendations if you're diabetic and taking prescription medication to combat high blood pressure will also help to improve the health of your heart and blood vessels.
